Spring Transfer Orientation

Spring 2026

The following information is for newly admitted transfer students for Spring 2026 who have paid their admissions’ deposit.

Transfer Orientation Experience:

Your transfer Orientation experience will take place in January and includes:

  • Orientation Checklist: The New Student Checklist, which goes live on in mid-November, outlines important steps to complete before the Spring semester
  • Academic Advising and Registration Appointments: Students will have a virtual academic advising and course registration appointment that will take place in December or early January. Make sure to complete your Orientation Checklist to access instructions to schedule your appointment and complete any academic adivisng documents prior to Orientation. Please note: all health and immunization records must be submitted prior to course registration.
  • Orientation - Sunday, January 18: An in-person session where you will hear from your Orientation Advisor, Transfer Student Success, and more on-campus resources.
  • BWelcome: A series of welcome events organized just for our brand new Bearcats.

How do you register?

Every newly admitted student who has paid their admissions’ deposit should receive an invitation via email from New Student Programs starting in mid November. At that point you will be able to access our Orientation registration system. If you do not receive the invitation via email by January 2, 2026, please contact our office so we may assist you either over the phone (607-777-6393) or through e-mail (orientat@binghamton.edu). 


What's next? 

After you complete your Orientation registration, you will receive a confirmation email that will direct you back to your Orientation Checklist on . Make sure to complete all necessary items to be fully prepared for your Orientation experience. 

To better prepare for your academic advising and course registration appointment that will take place after your Orientation session, the Academic Advising offices have developed a series of digital documents designed to aid in your academic success and to assist in developing your first semester schedule. Visit your Orientation Checklist after you register for an Orientation session to review this information and complete necessary steps prior to your Orientation session. These are absolutely essential steps in order to maximize the benefits of academic advising appointments and get the best possible academic schedule during your course registration. Please note, each academic college has different information and important to do's on the Orientation Checklist.
