Spring Admitted First-Years

Spring 2026 Orientation 

The following information is for first-year students who have been admitted for the Spring 2026 semester and will therefore be attending our Spring Admitted Orientation experience. The Orientation Experience includes several components including an Orientation session.


Spring 2026 Orientation Experience

  • Orientation Checklist: The New Student Checklist, which goes live on in mid-October, outlines important steps to complete before the Spring semester.

  • BUZZ Emails: Weekly emails loaded with resources and opportunities to take advantage of here at Binghamton. These are sent by Admissions, so keep an eye out in your email!
  • Orientation Session-Sunday, Janurary 18: During your Orientation session you will meet with your Orientation Advisor, learn about campus resources, and meet other new students.
  • Virtual Academic Advising and Registration Appointments: A series of digital documents designed to aid in your course selection process are available through your Orientation Checklist, accessible once you register for Orientation. Upon completion of these materials, an Academic Advisor will be in contact with you to schedule an advising appointment where you will register for your Spring 2026 classes.
  • New Student Move-In and Welcome Program: Our new students will move into the residence halls early and participate in welcome programming. More information will be sent out about move-in as we get closer to the start of the spring semester.

All new matriculated incoming first-year students for Spring 2026. 

How do you register?

Every newly admitted student who has paid their admissions’ deposit is encouraged to attend Orientation. Details regarding the registration process will be emailed to the student's Binghamton email. If you are unable to register for an Orientation date, please contact our office so we may assist you either over the phone (607-777-6393) or through e-mail (orientation@binghamton.edu). 

What's next? 

After you complete your Orientation registration, you will receive a confirmation email that will direct you back to your Orientation Checklist on . Make sure to complete all necessary items to be fully prepared for your Orientation experience. 

All incoming first year students will be pre-registered for their spring 2026 classes pending the completion of online documents related to course registration. These digital documents are designed to aid in your academic success and to assist in developing your first-semester college schedule. Visit your Orientation Checklist after you register for Orientation to review this information and complete the necessary steps prior to your Orientation which may include a course preference form.

Please note each academic college has different information and important to-do’s on the Orientation Checklist. 

All spring admitted students, regardless of when you attend Orientation, will move into their spring housing assignment on January 17, 2026. Students will receive communications from Residential Life regarding exact move in times.
