Guthrie Scholars Premedical Internship

Guthrie Scholars Premedical Internship

The Guthrie Clinic (Guthrie) is a nonprofit, integrated healthcare system serving the Southern Tier of NY and the Northern Tier of PA. Guthrie includes six hospital campuses (including Robert Packer Hospital) and an extensive network of outpatient facilities spanning 13 counties. Guthrie combines hospital-based care, outpatient services, research, and education to deliver comprehensive, high-quality healthcare throughout the region.

The Guthrie Scholars Premedical Internship is a full-time, unpaid internship for Scholars wishing to attend medical school upon graduation.  The internship takes place in-residence at and campus (about 40 miles west of ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ), located in Sayre, PA. The facility is a 254-bed teaching hospital with a Level I Trauma center, a new Intensive Care Unit, a clinical skills lab, and a full range of other diagnostic, medical, and surgical services.  Interns complete a research project, observations in a wide variety of specialties, skills lab training, and more.

NOTE: Guthrie requires that all Scholars be vaccinated against Covid.  Religious exemptions are not available and there may be very narrow guidance for medical exemptions.  Any religious exemption granted by ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ applies only to the University setting.  It does not apply to off-campus affiliated activities or locations.
