Kopernik Observatory

  • Kopernik Observatory & Science Center Tour
  • Join us for an engaging behind-the-scenes tour of Kopernik Observatory & Science Center and discover the fascinating world of astronomy and science education.
    • Led by KOSC Director Drew Deskur, participants will learn about the observatory's history, mission, and unique facilities. Weather and conditions permitting, a solar filter can be installed on one of the observatory's telescopes, allowing participants to safely observe the sun.
  • Accessible restrooms are available on-site. Most of the tour takes place on the ground floor; however, access to the telescope domes requires climbing stairs to reach the telescopes. Participants should be comfortable navigating several flights of stairs if they wish to visit the domes.

Topic:    Nature Walk

BU nature preserve fall

  • Location: ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Nature Preserve

  • Parking: Upper End of Parking Lot M across from Nature Preserve
    • Join us for a guided tour of the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Nature Preserve led by Dylan Horvath. Explore the beauty of this natural area while learning how to identify a variety of native trees and shrubs found throughout the preserve.

      During this interactive walk, participants will discover the unique characteristics of different species, learn tips for identifying trees and shrubs in all seasons, and gain a greater appreciation for the local environment. Whether you're an experienced nature enthusiast or simply curious about the outdoors, this tour offers a fun and educational opportunity to connect with nature.

      Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather, as the tour will take place outdoors on natural trails.

  • Come to the University Union and explore your various benefits, ask questions, and connect with representatives from health, retirement, campus departments, wellness programs and local retailers.

    • Pick up your parking pass at the Information Booth as you enter the University or approach me at the Human Resources table

For in-person workshops, guests requiring a garage parking pass can pick up their pass at the Information Booth as you enter the University and by providing your name and the name of the event.

Feel free to bring family members or friends to any of our events.  

Retiree, emeritus/emerita ID cards allow access to events and discounts on campus.

Contact Corinna Kruman should you require a new ID card. I will use the picture we currently have in the system. You can also email Corinna Kruman a recent photo with mailing information. 

If you prefer, you can have a new pictures taken by coming to AD 242, Department of Human Resources.
