Jodi L. Sutherland, PhD, RN, ACNR, CNE
Associate Professor
Background
Jodi Sutherland is an associate professor of nursing at ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ's Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She has been a nurse for more than 20 years and has experience in hospital and community settings.
After completing her nurse residency program, she began her career in a hospital cardiac surgical unit.
After five years of acute care practice, Sutherland transitioned to a community health setting, where she worked as a public health nurse and a home care nurse. She says practicing as a nurse in the community was life-changing and transformational to her career.
As a public health nurse, Sutherland learned to investigate, educate and advocate for individuals and populations in health restoration, support and promotion.
